DeLand, FL – Prosecutors will not go after a DeLand man and woman who were arrested last month for repeatedly raping the same woman at least 3 different times at an apartment complex near DeLand.
The office of 7th Circuit State Attorney RJ Larizza says all charges have been dropped against Daria J. Hill and Terrell K. Williamson.
Both were 18 years old at the time they were arrested by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office last January 8th and 9th, according to Larizza spokesman Spencer Hathaway.
“Due to conflicting statements gathered during the investigation and a review of the totality of the circumstances, there was insufficient evidence to prosecute the case,” Hathaway wrote in an email sent on Thursday.
VCSO says the victim claimed Williamson raped her at least 3 different times between New Year’s Day and January 5th at an undisclosed location, including at least 1 time at gunpoint.
Hill allegedly participated at one point by holding the victim down against her will while Williamson raped her.
Hill was charged with sexual battery on a helpless person and false imprisonment. Williamson was charged with multiple sexual battery counts, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.
